54.3p

Ok, don't know if anyone can offer thoughts on this.

The $Au is currently at 54.3p. We want to send $15,000.00 over to the UK to pay off our mortgage.

Is it worth waiting to see if it hits 55p, or do you think we should bit the bullet now?

The $Au vs the £ can be tracked here; http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=AUD&to=GBP

Thanks in advance

I'll settle for a copy of Sports Almanac 2016.

Arbitary numbers like 55p are irrelevant. If you want to wait then wait, but don't get fixated on a round number.

    Cheers gang.

I was just wondering what people thought the prospects for the £ Sterling were really.

I would just transfer the money.

On $15,000 the difference is going to be marginal: fixed costs and spread are going to cost you far more than waiting for the ideal moment, which you can't identify, to transfer the funds.

I don't have crystal balls they might break. I find tea leaves much more efficient and you can recycle them as well.........

Fools. The ideal time will be July this year because a number of factors will combine to make it so.

If July this year isn't an option try previous years but make sure to hedge with a historical forward lock, back dated (of course!)
Left is never right but I always am.

That is what we were thinking. The $Au has risen steadily since the date of the Brexit vote was announced.

A penny increase on the $Au = £140 more to us, (transfer costs do not change if over $10,000)
