Ok, don't know if anyone can offer thoughts on this.
The $Au is currently at 54.3p. We want to send $15,000.00 over to the UK to pay off our mortgage.
Is it worth waiting to see if it hits 55p, or do you think we should bit the bullet now?

Thanks in advance

Cheers gang.
I was just wondering what people thought the prospects for the £ Sterling were really.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -

I would just transfer the money.
On $15,000 the difference is going to be marginal: fixed costs and spread are going to cost you far more than waiting for the ideal moment, which you can't identify, to transfer the funds.0 -

Fools. The ideal time will be July this year because a number of factors will combine to make it so.
If July this year isn't an option try previous years but make sure to hedge with a historical forward lock, back dated (of course!)Left is never right but I always am.0 -

That is what we were thinking. The $Au has risen steadily since the date of the Brexit vote was announced.
A penny increase on the $Au = £140 more to us, (transfer costs do not change if over $10,000)“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0
