Showers

I'm looking to fit a new shower into my bathroom and it seems that thermostatic ones are general considered best (I have a combi boiler).
Now I need to know specific brands and models.
Can anyone recommend a robust a reliable brand and model which won't breakdown or cause issues every few months?
For starters, I've been looking into Hansgrohe but they seem quite pricey and not sure if there's another brand out there which can do 85% as good a job but for a lot less money?
And can anyone recommend where to buy from?
Thanks

I have had a Triton in my bathroom for twenty years and it still works fine. In the wetroom, we have a Mira. That's been in for thirteen years, and again, no problems. Both were mid-range showers.0

We bought a thermostatic mixer from ebay for £99. It worked flawlessly for years; we moved, but I'm sure it's still going.
You don't need to spend a lot to get a good thermostatic; it's mostly down water supply.0 -
In a previous house I had a Mira Excel which worked really well.
Currently I have Crosswater Kai thermostatic mixers in both bathroom and shower room. These seem to work fine - not as good as the shower in my old house, but I think that's down to the water pressure being lower.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Apart from Hansgrohe, there is Grohe, which tend to come in a bit cheaper. I chose Grohe in both my current & my last property. I bought mine online after finding it the cheapest way to source what I wanted. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
We've had a mira advance ATL flex 9kw for a few months now. Seems to fit the bill well,it does its best to constantly monitor incoming flow so if your in the shower and some lovely person decides to put the tap on downstairs the flow/temp is minimally affectedEven a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0

We have had big issues with Mira 9kw sport showers they last just over two years then pack up,after having three I called Mira to try and some advice and it was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
They did not want to know0
