didn't realise what a minefield 65 is re benefits!!..

Question is: My wife is 60 and gets carers allowance for me,

When I reach 65 (november) does the carers allowance continue?

    As long as she meets the requirements and you still get the required benefit then yes it will continue. The change will come when she reaches pension age.

    I'm my Dad's carer and he's 87! Age doesn't matter as long as the person being cared for receives PIP/DLA or AA. However, once your wife reaches retirement age (assume 67?) if she receives a pension she won't get CA but I think she will still be entitled to carer's premium, although I'm not sure if this is right or how much it is!

    she will only get a carers premium if household income is low enough.

    CA stops at retirement because it is a work replacement benefit, and after retirement age, you are no longer working
