PlasterBoard. Need some delivered...

Hi, I need some plasterboard delivered and Screw-Fix.co.uk (my usual diy shop) does not seem to sell it.
Can anyone recommend me a shop that is good for prices and will deliver it too?
(The plasterboard is being used to cover up artex (easier that getting it off).

The best place to start would be your local building suppliers, if you can give some kind of indication of Location people could suggest ones in your area.0

I'm in Yate, Bristol. There is a B&Q, but I've never been that impressed with themm.
I would also need some battening....
By the way, would you recommend plastering over artex (on my walls) or platerboard over it? (It's my first house, loads of jobs to do on it)0 -
Maybe you have a Wickes near you. or Travis Perkins - try the phone book. With most suppliers, it can cost as much to deliver as the stuff itself.0

You could try some of the supplies in this list, I haven't used any of them except B&Q and Screwfix...

I would compare the prices for B&Q with the ones from local suppliers, I always thought they were expensive, but they do have special deals every so often that make then cheaper than the local suppliers.

B&Q is pretty cheap for plasterboard but will charge you for delivery (about 20quid???). Find a local builders merchant and get them to give you a price. It will be double that of B&Q but at this point you start to haggle. They will deliver for nothing if you ask.0

Scrape the artex down as much as you can then skim over it . It only needs plasterboarding in the most extreme cases0

You need to be aware that Artex used to contain asbestos until the mid 70's!0 -

I would definitely plaster over the artex rather than sheeting the walls , as you will then still have to either plaster them or tape and joint them anyway"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!
