Help with claiming benefits

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help.
I am a mature student currently at university I have a nil contract and work when ever I can however, beginning to struggle because of my work load at uni.
My partner is in the process of moving in with me however, can only manage to work 18 hours a week due to an injury.
I wanted to know if we are able to claim anything for the next 18 months until I qualify.
Started to look myself however is a mine field

What type of injury does your partner have?
Does he receive any benefits for it such as DLA or PIP?0 -
Does your uni have a Welfare Office where you can get benefit advice?
Bursaries ?
