Cheap Energy Club

I recently changed my tariff using the cheap energy club. I stayed with British Gas, but changed to a British Gas direct debit collective tariff.

I have had a problem though that the direct debit was not set up and British Gas are saying that they were never instructed to set up a direct debit.

As I have been away I have missed their bill and therefore have missed a payment which will undoubtedly be recorded on my credit file.

What do I need to do or who do I need to speak to to resolve this?

    Hi AndrewB3,

I'd suggest contacting the specialist collective team at British Gas. This is a team that has been specially trained to handle queries relating to the collective tariff so should be able to help you out with this.

The number for this team is 0800 975 9712.

    I hope this helps!

How often are BG billing you?

Most suppliers bill quarterly for those that have not opted to pay by DD, so you should have paid 3 monthly DD's by now which you appear to have missed. Possibly more if they have now recorded this as an official missed payment.

All you can do is talk to the supplier as MSE Roxanne suggests. Good luck! :)
