Hi,
I have recently been into a Nissan showroom to get a new car on a PCH lease,
The plan was the nissan showroom give me a price for my current car which I agree, they write me a cheque which I cash then pay off a loan I have to finance the purchase of current car.
Then they have my current car, I add £1500 as a deposit on the new PCH car and start paying monthly for the lease car.
Simple enough ?
I have paid £500 so far, (of the £1500 deposit)
Next i have been dealing with several sales men, and think there has been mis communication, between them, as when I came to agree & sign the deal I checked the details & asked about the payment to me for my current car.
Suddenly a lot of blank faces appeared and it turns out they incorrectly thought my car had no finance attached to it, which strictly speaking it doesn't, but I do have a loan for it which needs to be settled 1st.
So where do I stand, can I expect the nissan garage to honour it legally ??
the money we are talking about is £4700

£4.7k is a big gap to be looking at in a negotiation - have you any paperwork/quote showing the cash/cheque due back to you or is it all just a simple misunderstanding ?0 -
Is your car actually worth the £4700 you thought they were going to give you?.0

So where was the £4700 going that your car is worth?
Were they expecting your car for free?0 -
Have never heard of a dealer paying for a trade in with a cheque, allowing it to clear them the purchaser coming back to complete the deal.
Why would the dealer even care about the OP having an outstanding Bank Loan? Wether it was used to pay for the car or not, the car that is being traded in is not on finance.
To be honest this seems like a very tall tale.
Either way there is nothing for the garage to honour, they would have HPi'd the trade in and found it free of finance.
Never heard of a lease having a £6300 deposit unless this is a Nissan GT-R we are talking about.0
