Really? Crikey I had no idea but I can assure you this is not fraud! Anyway, surely it should register at the end of the day that there was £800 extra in the ATM?

That's exactly why I'd expect you to get reimbursed.

You should also complain about poor claim handling. There's an ex-gratia payment with your name on it.

its not fraud its a ATM dispense issue, OP is not saying the money wasn't handed over.

Have you checked that the money wasn't credited back into the account straight after you tried the withdrawal, sometimes with ATM dispense issues its a reversal transaction rather then a actual discrepancy...

Have you given Bank Of Ireland the time and date and location of the ATM?
Are they investigating it with Santander?

The Lloyds Banking Group owned banks will refund the ATM transaction by the end of the next working day whilst they investigate.

Other banks do not operate like this and nor are they required to.

My posts more importantly the first one of which the second one was related too was was from the Bank Of Ireland website who operate post office accounts.
Nothing to do with Lloyds Banking Group.

I'm addressing what you're saying in your second post though. Specifically what you're saying about being " reimbursed while the investigation was being conducted". Not every bank does this.

I know it's not anything to do with LBG but the point I was trying to make was that your experience at LBG isn't necessarily applicable to other banks.

I was talking about Bank Of Ireland who issue post office accounts.

My reply was in relation to Bank of Ireland, at no point did I mention LBG, all information posted was from BOI website, including the telephone number.

This thread has nothing to do with LBG,

  • I had a similar issue , one thursday morning i was on my way to work and i popped to an atm machine - hole in the wall near asda. I withdrew £200 but nothing came out but my card. I rang the atm number on the front of the display and also rang my bank this took nearly two months to give me the money back.
