Scottish Power - Let Down

I need to rant, apologies in advance!
So, when I moved into my property (owned) in October 2014 I found it had pre-payment meters, I spent the next year trying to get these changed to credit meters and really struggled to get them to agree to do this but eventually in December they agreed to do it! Yahhh!
Scottish Power made an appointment on the 5th January, I advised them I work 8-5 Mon-Fri and only have 3 days holiday left to take, one of these three days I used to be in for Scottish Power as they said between 11am and 2pm. I waited and waited and no-one arrived.
This happened another 2 times (all my holiday gone :-( )
I was angry at this point and made them aware of this! They rearranged the appointments again, to two separate evenings in February and advised me the engineers (2 separate engineers) would be with me between 4pm and 8pm. On both days I didn't have lunch so I could leave work early, I rang SP to confirm the appointments before I went home and was told all was ok and again no-one turned up.
This happened another three times.
As you can guess, I was pretty hacked off at this point but getting no-where with customer services. One agent (the manager apparently) actually told me I should take unpaid leave to be in for them.
So, I did the only thing I could think of, I searched goggle and found the email address for the CEO of the Company and emailed them. I got a reply from a secretary and actually she was pretty good. A week later my gas was changed in the evening (sadly not the electric) and he send my £150 compensation but this did not cover the lose of my last 3 days holiday, at least 6 evenings spent waiting in for Scottish Power and hours of phone calls that bought me to tears with how awful their customer service agents speak to people and lie.
Anyway, I moved suppliers. I had definitely had enough and changed to EDF, who seem fine at the moment and I thought that was it, I was done with Scottish Power but ohh no, I was wrong.
Today I got my final bill for my gas.
2 weeks supply between the change over of the meter and going to EDF I live alone in a 1 bedroom house with a brand new boiler and the bill clearly states I used £15 of gas in that time however the accounts dept have added my £150 compensation payments onto the bill as a debit.
So now, because of....well lets face its, down right stupidity........I have a final bill of £165 for 2 weeks gas!

Ohhh, I have emailed the CEO again but im really at the point where I would just like to hide in a hole and never hear the words Scottish Power Again.

I sympathize with you, I have been fighting with Scottish Power since October 2014 since I had a change of meter. I can't get anywhere, I am now waiting for the ombudsman to get somewhere for me. I daren't change supplier until it is sorted.
  • Its awful, the saddest thing is how rude they are on the phone.
My case has been with the ombudsman but they don't seem to be doing anything either :-(
