So you are happy to buy the property with visible cracks of unknown origin and resent paying for a survey in case it tells you something you don't want to hear?
Go for it. What is the worst that could happen?0 -
The survey is money well spent if it either allows you to negotiate down or warns you off the purchase. Don't think of it as wasted money, rather think of it as insuring yourself against buying a lemon.
If I am reading this correctly, it sounds like the OP isn't that concerned about any potential issues to do with the cracks but is more worried that they will be picked up and mortgage not granted. This implies that he is probably looking to flip the house after a refurb and papering over the cracks?
