Change of pymt date

A quick quesr. I am finally in a position to pay off my Nat west cc off in full each month. I always paid the minimum by dd then made over payments. My dd always came out on the 5 th of the month.

Now I have changed to pay the full amount by dd they have changed the date it comes out to the 26th, 9 days earlier, can someone explain why for me as I don't understand the reason.

Thank you in advance for any help.

    There is no any reason.
Ask them why and then ask to change it back to the original date.

RBS group cards always have this strange set-up for full payment direct debits. There seems to be no good reason given that other banks do not have the same policy.
  • U better go through their tech support since they can only explain the reason behind such issue

Just in case anyone gets same issue, I spoke to NW and this happens when you change from min to full payment by DD. They are aware of this and it was very simple to change it to a preferred date after this payment has happened.

Although quite painless and quick to change back, a warning when these changes are made would have been helpful.

Probably because you have to pay within 56 days to not pay interest, if you are not paying the full balance they might take 66 days to collect the DD as it doesn't matter so much.
