Lacetti sump removal

Hi.
I need to remove the sump on my 2009 1.6 auto Lacetti. Can I do this with the engine in the car? Any other hints?
Thanks in advance

Have a look underneath and see. There may be an exhaust pipe or sub-frame in the way that has to come off first (or if you are lucky only the sump nuts!) but it should be possible with the engine in the car. Why do you need to remove it?

If you lend it to me for a few mins I'll find some local speed humps and I can probably have it off in no time :rotfl:

Why would a brand new user choose to post a question like this on a money saving forum instead of a dedicated Chevrolet forum?

Or are my thoughts so Dark that it doesn't Matter?!

Have you seen the UK Chevrolet owners forum? It's about as populated as a Norwich City home match...

    to ndbeattie
    if he does come back
look under the sump see if gearbox is covering some of the fastening bolts
indeed see if manifold and exhaust needs removing
consider no gasket on these only sealant used so it may put up a fight
if it has a small corrosion hole in sump? consider a localised repair with an emetal mastic, once oil drained ,area cleaned and repair left for 24 hours
