removing a fitted cupboard in kitchen

Just bought my first flat :-) and have zero diy knowledge so was hoping for
some advice.
I would like to remove a fitted kitchen cupboard which has an end piece
on one side and another cupboard the other side so that the end piece is on the other cupboard creating a larger open space for a dishwasher
I'd also need to remove the drawer above it and the part of the panel under the cupboard door that runs bewteen it and the floor but appears to be part of one long panel that goes under all the cupboards and the oven.
Is this something i can attempt myself or should i call a carpenter or a
handyman in to do it? and should i get a plumber in to do the extra pipework as currently there is only the WM fittings at the minute. (the sink is the other side of the gap) Could a handyman do all of it?
Many thanks.

Good morning: First I'll state my bias..my OH is a plumbing and heating engineer who also refurbishes properties. If you can find a plumber who can do carpentry and electrics you'll be sorted...some posters might suggest that one person can't do all these jobs well but I beg to differ;) Always get at least 3 written quotes in, preferably from trades recommended to you by a source you trust.
Good luck with your project.

I too needed to take most of the kitchen units as I would wan to replace the whole kitchen with a free standing one to make my kitchen bigger. Would i be able to do it ? I know that I do have to have someone to deal with the plumbing, electrics and gas. But, i really would like to do most of the work to save some money...Will it work?:pSealed Pot Challenge 2012 #1502:)
