Tax rebate on JSA

I was recently made redundant and am on JSA. I am due a tax refund. Can anyone tell me if this will be paid with my JSA and if so, is it likely to be in my next payment which is due next week?
Many thanks

No...
You'll probably have to apply for it. They're totally different things, JSA and tax refunds, administrated by different people. I get my tax refunds each week but I'm on a week 1 month 1 tax thing whatever that means, and I'm in work.0 -
The tax year ended on 5 April .
Any tax deducted before them will apply to 2015/16.
If you claimed JSA before 5 April and you handed in your p45 to the jobcentre then they should refund any tax overpaid at the end of the year.
Otherwise you will need to contact HMRC

DWP won't apply any tax deductions/refunds to JSA payments - they're not set up to deal with tax in that way. As JSA is taxable income they will produce a P60 at the end of the year which will incorporate details from the P45 you gave them, and pass it on to HMRC.
HMRC should automatically realise that you're due a rebate and process it but it may take a couple of months- I'm not sure if you proactively contacting them will speed the process.0 -
OP would be helpful to know the specifics as we have just changed tax year.

You are incorrect, in this case the employer is DWP (or treated as such), if as has been said OP handed in a P45 and made their claim before 5th April they will get any tax refund due from DWP, I think there is a deadline of end of May.
DWP have always paid tax refunds under these circumstances."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Thanks everyone. I did hand in a P45 and did sign on before April 5th.0
