credit rating question

Hi I had about 16 credit accounts listed against my credit score. I have cleared 6 of them off and removed 2 credit cards one for vanquis £1000 limit - paid off in full and account closed and one for capital one £250 paid off in full and account closed. I also closed my other store cards and accounts all paid in full. very littlewoods jacamo simply be. I have one credit card with barclays £400 - balance of about £300 on it owed recently used to fix the car. large re-payments each month £150

experian reports it's negatively affected me as credit limit has been removed or closed I was told by a lender that reducing my active credit accounts will help improve my affordability.

is this information incorrect or will it improve over time.
