Airline price increases

I would have thought this was common knowledge, but recently I have seen posts on this forum that confirm some people are still unsure when booking flights.
All last week a flight I needed to book was £139, this weekend it was £198 and today it is back to £139. Never book flights on weekends.
Additionally, I have lost count of the times flight prices have increased after multiple searches and then reduced when I have used a different browser of cleared cookies.
Quick fixes to simple problems.

Unless of course the price is cheaper at the weekend - which it was when I booked to Monaco last year.0

Same for me my flight dropped £100 pp between Thursday night checking prices and Friday night booking. There's no one pattern.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

There is no pattern, they use dynamic pricing systems that aim to present you with the best (highest) price they think you'll pay, this is all done with little or no human involvement.
Bottom line is that prices will usually be at their highest when demand is.
I have no data to back it up but I always try to book (from behind a VPN) early on weekdays, 5am if I'm up.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
