Misting in double glazed windows in Conservatory

Hi
Two of our double glazed windows and the door in conservatory is misted up.
I heard of some means of drilling a small hole in the corners and feeding in few pellets of dessicants which claim to be useful in clearing the misting.
Anybody tried it,is it useful?
Does it reduce the heat retention ability of the windows/door??

Get a quote for replacing the units, you may be pleasantly surprised.

    You may not, of course.

I have seen adverts for these people before and thought I might contact them in the future. I have no experience of them, so it is not a recommendation . http://www.cloudy2clearwindows.co.uk/

I've used cloudy2clear and been very pleased with the job and the price. I think it's a franchise, so there will be set standards.

every town seems to have a man in a van that I'm sure would be a better option than using a national supplier, even if operated on a franchise scheme.

I'm an ardent self help sort of bloke but had some of mine done by a local company as the cost was virtually identical to what I would have had to pay at the glass merchants
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Not so I am afraid. cloudy2clear operate by installing inferior, poor standard, sealed units. They know these will have a limited life span but their business model is based on you calling them out to replace these in the future. Hence they get repeat business based on the gift of the gab, national marketing and consumer ignorance of good standards.

cyclonebri1 is shrewd enough to know the realities here!

I had to replace quite a few small double glazed units in my wooden framed French doors, these failed through poor fitting when new (glass chipped when beading fitted) Bought them all from a local supplier and so far, after twelve years, non have failed.
