    Like I said - only if you allow the EA to dictate what you offer and if/when you walk away.

    Here's a clue: You do not HAVE to spend every single penny you can "afford" (by which we mean borrow).

    The EA does know my financial details I expect, as our broker/advisor works in-house with them.

    Well... maybe not in this case.

    It's all very immoral and unfair on the seller, but...

    ...if brazillondon's offer is accepted, the EA will get the seller's fee plus the mortgage commission / referral fee.

    So the EA might be keen to persuade the seller to accept brazillondon's offer, even if it's lower than other offers. So perhaps the EA is trying to 'build a story' for the seller of why brazillondon is a 'better buyer' than the others.
