Hello
I'm thinking of having a couple of days in Dubai as a stop over on a long haul trip. Can anyone recommend a specific hotel that's quite central (near to a main shopping area) but not too expensive? I've looked on trip adviser but there's so many to choose from it seems.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. The trip is going to be October/ November.
Oh and anyone that can give me some ideas of what to do while we're there would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I stayed at the Sheraton Deira. Not far from the airport, and near the malls.
If it is shopping that you are going for, I would recommend the Burjaman Mall www.burjuman.com, and the Deira City Centre Mall. I also went to the Wafi Mall, but thought that was a bit useless.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Thanks for the info. I think to be honest I'll mostly be resting and hopefully sitting by the hotel pool, etc. but it would be nice if there's shops/ restaurants close by.
