Cordless vac not working!

I have a Morphy Richards 2 in 1 cordless stick vac, a Supervac 732000, which I've had about 18 months. Now when I charge it up, the green light shows it is fully charged but the vac won't work - as soon as I try it, nothing happens. I am guessing that the battery won't hold the charge any more. This seems a very short life for a product that cost over £50!! Is it possible to replace the battery myself?

You are making a big assumption thinking that it must be the battery. It could be the charger, switch, motor or simply a disconnected wire.

If it is the battery then yes they can be replaced but as you are asking it sounds like you would need to get somebody who can do it, to do it for you.

You are probably right! So would my best bet be to take it to an electrical repairer? But its a gamble, isnt it whether its going to be as expensive to get it fixed as to buy another! Built in obsolescence??
  • Taking it to be fixed will cost the bulk of your £50.
I do think cordless will eventually become useful when the battery technology improves(even the top price units haven't proved their durability)

The obvious could save you some money - are you sure there isn't a blockage / filter needs changing / an over-ride switch needs to be re-set?
