Some do, they will let you know if they need to do one.

Most (or all) serious finance organistaions will do a credit check. Getting a CCJ is like getting a criminal record in finance.

I've just had one - took under 2 weeks! They do criminal records check, 5 year employment checks, CCJ and credit check.

two Friday afternoons ago a woman phoned me and said "sorry but the security team have not authorized you for clearance due to the CCJ".

Not sure how much clearer this could be.
