Barclaycard limit increase online

I applied online for a limit increase on my Barclaycard (expecting an instant decision), however I was instead informed that further checks were required and I would need to contact them directly.
Has anyone been through a similar situation with Barclaycard?

Yes, i am in the same situation. Basically this means that you will be referred, they will need to know your salary etc, but they declined my request. You can give it a try, no credit check is done.0

Thanks for that.
Any feedback on why they declined your request?0 -
I just did this today and got a message saying we are unable to process your request nothing else. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on a question I have? I'm a housewife so have no employer does this mean I'll never be able to get an increase? I've had the card for years so was working when I initially applied for it.0

I asked for a small increase which was instantly accepted. A couple of months later I asked for another small increase, but got a message to the effect that it was too soon after the last increase. Wish I had asked for more in the first place.
I think somebody posted that if you ask for a very large increase then they will grant the largest increase they are happy with. (Though perhaps this conflicts with the OP's experience.)0 -
Tried mine yesterday although not interested in increasing my credit limit.
I have 4k limit. I requested 10k new limit came back they can offer me 9k.0 -
I started with a BarclayCard Initial about a year and half ago at £1k limit and an APR in the 30% range.
Applied online for an increase after a few months and was told to phone them. They took some details and messaged this across to a certain team. I received a txt a few days later agreeing to increase my credit limit to 3k.
After having the card for 6 months, I phoned and asked to be transferred to the Cashback AMEX/VISA, which they agreed to.
I then applied to increase my credit limit to £6k online, agree instantly. Phoned and asked for the APR to be lowered, which they agreed by 6%.
A few months ago I applied again to increase my limit to £10k, agreed instantly online.
I've found Barclaycard to be great at increasing credit limits, lowering APRs and generally doing whatever it is you wish to do, as long as you've been with them for 6 months or more.
I believe if you put in a high number when requesting a credit limit increase online, they'll offer you the max they can. I am tempted to see what they'll offer me, but I have no need for any more than a £10k limit.
Shame it's not my main credit card, which is the Lloyds Avios card, which they wont increase past £1k limit for some reason.0 -
I had a letter from Barclycard saying my credit limit would increase in May. I put the increase in online and it increased immediately. So you don't need to wait if you don't want to!0
