Thanks - I am trying to get a definite rule on whether PIP regs allow for walking aids to be disallowed....
I have an email from 'DCS DCPU Alternative Format Team' - That give me one side - but the regs tell me a different story
This is extremely important for me - because I can walk, perhaps 50 yards with an aid fitted - but without it, I am limited to a few steps - and the regs don't exactly make it clear !!0 -

I am looking for how they determine the number of points for each section.0 -
Missed the doc from my first post

You need page 120 of the link I gave:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/449043/pip-assessment-guide.pdf
From my understanding the assessor starts at the top of the descriptors and works down assessing claimant's ability.
From what you say, you would meet descriptor D.
However, as I am sure you are aware, this is not automatically awarded as the Health Profession will also be observing your ability to walk from (for example) the car park to the actual assessment centre and for your part you need to emphasis that you can not perform previous descriptors reliably, safely and repeatedly due to pain etc. This would all have to be backed up by medical evidence.0 -

I was intending to request a home assessment - is that wise ?0 -
It's that phrase "can do xxxx.....aided ot unaided..." that gets me - what does it mean ?7
Yes, I may be able to walk 50 or even 100 yards - on some occasions AIDED - But only a single step UNAIDED !!0 -
Useful info, many thanks!0
