The Cheapest Florida/Disneyland Family Holiday Thread

Hi
I'm looking to take my family (2 adults, 3 children 9,5,3) to Disneyland Florida in the next 12 to 18 months. I've keen to know peoples experiences and advice on this holiday as obviously we want to get it as cheap as possible. Due to school holiday we will probably need to go in the summer, so June to August, but happy for the kids to miss a couple of days before the end of term. I would consider other dates based on peoples experience.
Any advice/locations/deals/hotels etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

This board is for reporting bargains so you would be better have a read of the dedicated Orlando thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1820085 (your post may get moved to the correct place)0

Sorry to be a pain but...
The Disney parks in Florida are called Walt Disney World.
Disneyland is in Anaheim (near Los Angeles) in California, 2500 miles further west.
The names matter if you do online searches for bargains, tickets, accommodation, etc."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -
As Caz siad plough through the thread linked or have a browse at The Dibb for some great advice.
Orlando and cheap don't really go together, Disney 14 day tickets are around £300, kids about a tenner cheaper, so that's £1,500, just for Disney parks.
Best time is debatable, we have been Feb, May, August and Oct and all were great, we used to take the kids out a week before half term to minimise absence from school, it was a few years back, when schools were more flexible. Towards the end of the Summer hols is good, American kids are back at school and it was a lot quieter around the parks. Bit of a rush, we flew back on Sat, arrived Sun morning, kids back to school on the Monday but they cope!
Best to have a good search around, decide on hotel, on site or off, villa or apartment, book separately or package, so many options. Good luck planning.0 -

Another option - rent a car for all or some of the time, and combine the theme parks with also seeing more of Florida. I'm not saying that's better, or that there's anything wrong with only visiting the theme parks. Just pointing out a possibility that you might not have considered.
Either way, with a car I'd highly recommend a side trip to Kennedy Space Center - very interesting and very well done."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -
