NPower always do this.
I've been at the same property, with roughly the same usage, for over 10 years now and they still tend to faff with the DD twice a year (often it'll halve, or double). They don't seem capable of taking my annual usage and dividing by twelve.
It is incredible, isn't it? The calculation is so simple, yet they continue to screw with it.0 -

Having raised the issue of widely varying DD calculations with The Energy Ombudsman, its response was:
A. That suppliers are free to use their own method of calculation. I had suggested that taking 3,months of usage over a Winter period and then dividing it by 90 and multiplying the result by 365 was hardly a reasonable way of calculating annual projected usage.
B. That suppliers now have an overarching licence obligation to ensure that customers do not get into debt.
In sum, whatever a supplier now does wiould seem to be acceptable practice as far as OFGEM is concerned. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Aaah memories. DD's , OFGEM, Energy Ombudsman. A cocktail of couldn't care less.
That the Supplier's come up with utter nonsense really doesn't matter to them.
