Good Morning everyone although good is anything but when it comes to the weather! Nothing specific planned for today but I may pop into town on the bus later on for a visit to the £1 shop for some basics, toothpaste, soap etc. He Who knows has a hospital appointment today and another tomorrow which will take him off for fairly long periods of time so I'll get a chance to top and tail the whole house and change beds etc. Other than walking the hound this afternoon and the obligatory cooking of meals that's my Monday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUMPLING have a really lovely day, Lyn xxx.0 -
Happy birthday dumpling.
I was meant to be going for a fasting blood test this morning but the surgery rang to cancel because the nurse is ill.
I finished my first week of the Blood Sugar Diet and have lost 7lbs. I have been following it religiously, it helps that I don't drink alcohol, and it hasn't been as bad as I feared. I admit to having cravings for ht buttered toast and jam but because I'm sure that bread is one of the culprits in making my stomach dodgy I haven't been tempted to succumb. We had steak on Saturday, with mushroom, tomato, asparagus and broccoli but I did miss chips with it!
DD starts her hike on the Inca trail today, I hope she's ok. Some of you may remember that 9 months ago she had a neck problem, she couldn't holdup her head or stand for more than a few minutes. She has come so far since then, mainly thanks to her own hard work, but also to several people who really helped her. I'm so thankful that she is better.
I'll be popping into Bedford later to pick up a delivery and I'm having a clear out so will have something for the charity shop.0 -
Morning((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one. Happy birthday Dumling, hope you have a wonderful day.
Another bright morning, expect OH will be out in the garden. I have the Monday clean to do and read the meter for the electric bill. I know we are going to owe them money, they can just wait for it. The heating will be going off shortly so that should make a difference.
I started to put the arch together, made sure we has all the right bits before I started. Got half of the two sides done, had to pack in it was lunch time. Will finish it today.
No other plans so far.0 -
Good morning one and all.
Happy monday!
nmlc - that's the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Chilled out.
Gers - glad that things are returning to normal after a hectic few weeks.
red ruby - our dogs have recently both been diagnosed with conjunctivitis which this got from our local fields. Eye drops from the vets twice a day soon cleared it up.
tru - I know the feeling. Wish I could take today off to piece myself together.
Judi - Enjoy your time with the dogs. Often the easiest way to cheer ones self up is to spend time with our dogs.
snoozer - that's amazing, well done!
Had another webinar for YNAB last night so I'm fueled with the determination to control my spending (not that I needed it this month). Looking for a good few NSD's in a row this week.
I was listening to a podcast this morning and they emphasized that physical health has a huge impact on your mental health (which isn't new news to most of us). However it really got me thinking about the synergy between my physical fitness and mental well being and I do believe there is a solid link.
Yesterday I went for a leisurely swim, focusing on my breathing and technique (not splashing and flailing around) and followed that up with a steam room and jacuzzi. That time on my own let me gather my thoughts, think about the hours, days, weeeks ahead and get focussed. Felt much better afterwards.
Anyway, back to work. Have a tremendous Monday.

Thinking of you and your family and so sorry for your loss, especially the suddeness of it.
Gers
Glad you are getting over the jet lag.
Candleight
I hope the hospital can help DH get rid of the fluid and he feels more comfortable soon.
DDs took me shopping yesterday and I got all the paint I needed for the living room and big bedroom to be done. I was up and dressed by 8a.m. and sitting near the window expectantly.
No sign of decorators so far and don't want to leave the house in case they come round.
I am going to put clean dishes away in the kitchen and make myself an omelette and coffee and just go with the flow. SIL is popping round tonight to pick up a small can of paint and will cook us some gammon steak, low fat chips and peas.

Back from the doctors.
It is just as I thought, my knee is getting old!:rotfl:0 -
Moorhen
You weren't tempted to say "The other knee is the same age and that is fine?"
I had odd knee and joint pain last year and found a combination of se*en se*s supplement for active joints and rubbing Volt**al on them helped a lot.
I realise that my needing to lose a few stone probably does not help so I am trying to eat sensibly.
I have had an omelette and am sitting by the window with a coffee so I don't miss the post or the decorators. The saying "A watched pot never boils" springs to mind."This site is addictive!"

Hi Elona.
I did say that the other one was fine but he ignored that!
I will try the painkilling gel as we have some in.
Thanks.0 -
Morning All
Happy Birthday Dumpling! I hope you have a lovely day and the family spoil you.
JackieO - So sorry to hear of your loss, big hugs to you.
RR - I hope Evie gets sorted out at the vet.
Well, I'm back! The plane was delayed by about half an hour but DD picked me up from the airport and drove back to hers then I drove home. Her flat is about 20 mins drive in the other direction so it was about 11.30 when I got back. The house was freezing!
I had to take the car for a service for 8am and get 2 trains home again, will do the reverse later. I may go to bed early tonight.
Anyway, the washing is on the line as it's a lovely sunny, breezy day but oh so cold. We had good weather in NL over the weekend with a coolish breeze but nothing like this.
Hope you all have a good week ahead. Take care. XX0 -
