O/S Daily Monday 11 April 2016
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
JackieO – so sorry to hear your sad news, sending hugs to you and your family at this sad time x
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them x
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work, DS2 still in his pit, but will wake him shortly to get ready for school.
Now light, dry underfoot, for most of the day yesterday it was gorgeous blue sky and sunshine, the air warmed up nicely too. This morning it’s very overcast and cloudy, but not raining at the moment.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, roasties, mash, pan fried cabbage and bacon, carrots, broc, peas, Yorkshires and gravy – LO’s are in the fridge ready to accompany another meal. Dinner tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.
We were quite lazy yesterday, didn’t really do anything other than prep lunch and pack ups, eat lunch, then watched some catch up tv and generally chilled. Back to work for me today, hoping for a normal busy Monday as it makes the day pass quicker.
Keep safe and well x

Morning chums, didn't sleep well last night, so feel a bit bleugh this morning. I have a busy morning as well today, lots of too-ing and fro-ing. Hopefully I will get a nanny-nap later this afternoon. The sun is up and shining at the moment, but its not that warm.Just going to have a pot of coffee to get me motivated
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes

Good morning everyone.
It's so bloomin' lovely to wake up in my own bed again. The sea is twinkling under the weak morning sun and there are lambs in the fields. I can feel my shoulders relaxing and my brain is no longer whirring around. My sleep was a little restless and I woke twice in the night though not for long. Jet lag will soon be gone.
Today I have to collect a picture from the framers in the village and that's about it. There's a small amount of washing but I'm in no hurry to do it. After a couple of frantic weeks I am determined to enjoy a few 'down' days.
Dumpling - many happy returns. Have a fabulous day!
Candlelight - hope the hospital visit is productive for Mr C.
JackieO - you're still in my thoughts, as is your brother.
Camelot - welcome home, and to everyone else who has been away too.
I'm going to enjoy my garden, there are loads of daffs out as well as some unknown flowers. I'll need to take photos and ask on the green fingers board. The grass needs raked as there's loads of bits of branches and leaves on it, some gentle exercise will be good.
As for food, I have some red cabbage and pork to eat courtesy of my mum. Real comfort food!
I hope everyone has a good Monday.0 -
Morning all
Flying visit from me.
Happy birthday DUMPLING
Off to work, fish fed, hubby has a cuppa, I have a fasting blood test at 9, I'll have been up 3 hours by then!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
Jackie O so sorry to hear of your loss, how sad xx
Pouring with rain here and looks set in for the day, off to work for me at the quieter site this week which is quite nice for a change.
Not sure about dinner tonight but we have some salmon in the freezer and some new potatoes or I have some puff pastry and could do a flambe type thing.
Ned to put a wash on tonight and sweep through downstairs.
We will have to take puppy back to the vets as her eyes are no better at all. I am starting to doubt the wheat thing now and think maybe its something out walking, she never got it all the time we were taking her to the beach, which makes me wonder if its something on the fields.
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Dumpling have a great day xx

Hope all goes well at the hospital candlelight xx
Happy Birthday dumpling :bdaycake:
The weather's looking miserable. Suits my mood, lol.
I've got lots of paperwork to sort through and spreadsheets to update today. I'm feeling particularly unfocused so I'm not sure how much I'll manage to do. I'll take Scampi for a walk before I do anything else, the fresh air might clear my head (feels very foggy in there at the moment!). If not, I'll give up on today and start again tomorrow

Morning everyone,
Dry and reasonably bright here, hopefully we will get some sun.
Had a lovely evening last night, both hollow-legged stepsons come over and had a fab time catching up on their worlds. Youngest is off to Uni in September so was sorting thru cupboards working out what we had double of. Also promised him some basic cooking lessons to help him manage his money better. The eldest also wants to learn how to cook a good risotto so will incorporate that as well.
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Dumpling, hope you have a fab day and are suitably spoilt.
Candlelight will be thinking of you and Mr C today, likewise Jackie
RR hope the vet can sort little Evie out.
Have a good day all, take care folks x0 -
JackieO I am very sorry to hear about your family's sad loss, love from another Jackie xx
I must be off to work after a near sleepless night caused by feeling unwell. Bleurgh.
Dumpling, have a great birthday xxI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone,
JackieO So sorry for your loss.
Dumpling Happy birthday.
Candlelight Hope things continue to go well.
Judi Hi.
Ancient hope that you feel better soon.
Well we are now on week two of our mission to use up the contents of the freezer and it is looking a lot more organised. Tru hopefully I will have an organised freezer like you soon!
I am off to the doctors this morning to have my dodgy knee looked at, i am expecting to be told that it is just due to age deterioration but I live in hope!
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all.
It's the first day back at work for the men in my house. I've already had my first moan of lack of progress by text. I expect many more throughout the day.
Need to give the house a good clean today. The stairs are particularly grubby.
Hubby had a melt down over a holey pair of work trousers last night which left him so enraged he ended up hyperventilating on the floor. Me standing over him with my hands cupped over his nose and mouth. I gave him 6 aspirin just in case it triggered another stroke. My man is an idiot.
Candlelight I hope all goes well at the hospital. Thinking of you both.
Dumpling, Have a lovely birthday.
I'm going to have a lovely day...on my own with the dogs.
Onwards and forwards
