Contributions based JSA query

I have just been made redundant. I will receive 7 weeks pay in lieu of notice and am not eligible for income based JSA.

If I register at the job centre now, will those 7 weeks PILON be counted as part of the 6 months contributions based JSA total? Or would the 6 months clock only start when I actually receive payment, ie when the 7 weeks has passed?

TIA

Pay In lieu of notice is not counted when claiming JSA conts or income based. You will be paid from the 8th day of your claim for 182 days.
When people ask me "What do you do?"
I tell them "Whatever it takes."
