Concerned about WTC and HB

Hi all.
I think I'm going to know the answer to this but thought I'd ask anyway.
Short history; after splitting with the father of our two children back in 2010 I ended the joint WTC/CTC claim the week we split and started a single claim for CTC. Three months later I upped my self-employed hours from 5 a week (having been awarded Income Support) to 16 a week (with the IS ending when I informed them). I had registered for self-assessment some years before as I had started dance teaching and costume making in 2005 and have paid class 2 NI ever since. In the portion of 2010/11 that I had upped my hours I made minimum wage after expenses and moved into a private rental, getting HB, in 2011.
In the first full tax year 2011/12 I didn't make minimum wage, nor did I in 2012/13 so later in 2013 found a job that offered me 15 hours a week and retained 4 hours self-employed. For the tax year 2013/14 I made minimum wage, as I did in 2014/15 and have done in 2015/16.
However, shortly before the end of the 2015/16 tax year (Feb 17th) I had to drop some of my self-employed hours but was still doing over 16 via both jobs (15 employed and now 4 self-employed). I called TC and informed them of the change on the 18th Feb.
Then on 11th March I had to drop all of my self-employed hours as the classes I had been teaching were cut, so informed TC of this - this now meant that I was only doing 15 hours employed. I spoke to my manager and they were able to offer me another 7 hours and this started on March 29th, and again I informed TC as soon as I could.
I expect to be asked to do a WTC compliance check as the rules have changed for self-employed people, and as yet I've not yet received any new notices from TC (not even from the changes I reported on Feb 18th) and realise that the years I didn't make minimum wage will mean I have a large over-payment to pay back once they've been looked at. But my bigger concern is that if this is investigated (I will add I never lied about my net profit and always provided accounts to HB as well) that it may have an impact on what I was awarded in HB, making the debt even bigger.
I guess I'm asking, am I justified in my concern? I haven't been able to eat or sleep for a couple of weeks and the lack of award notices/letters or even an actual request (so far) for info for a compliance check is making it worse.

They could ask however they usually focus on the current year or the previous one. They don't generally go back years at first request.0
