Childcare element of Universal Credit

Does anyone have any experience receiving help with childcare costs through Universal Credit? I'm a single working mum with two children under 2 and I have recently gone back to work. My understanding is that I can get 70% of the first £300 per week of my childcare costs back and Universal Credit have verbally confirmed this with me twice over the phone.
From what I understand it is paid separately to UC and the lady I spoke to at UC last week on the phone said that she would action the payment and I should receive it within 5 days. I'm confused by the fact she had to action it manually - am I going to have to end up calling every month to chase it? Will it always be paid on the same day?
I know there's been lots of problems with UC since it was rolled out but I've not had any problems previously - I always knew exactly how much was coming and exactly when I would receive it. Now I'm back at work I am no longer receiving any of the other elements of UC.
