this forum is anonymous, and it helps others if questions are asked, and answered on the board rather than privately.

it also avoids the same questions being asked over and over again

    This ^^

No one here knows who you are OP. If you're really concerned then set up a throwaway account to ask the question.

Say my husband couldn't work due to ill health and was on got esa cont based, and I still worked getting £17100.
Just wondering if we would get any help with rent and council tax ? 3 children, 1 disabled who we get Hmrc and hrm for.
I have seen somewhere about applicable amounts, can anyone advise what this means.
    Thanks

applicable amounts are the premiums used when calculating benefit.
they add up and are the amount that any household needs BEFORE deductions are made from HB for additional income.

you would have several... an amount for your huscand were he to be granted ESA, one each for your children with an additional disabled child.
you would probably still receive some housing benefit.

have you tried your local authorities website?
they usual have a housing benefit calculator.
it would also depend on if you rent privately or socially and how many bedrooms you have

Plus, you would need to either put in a claim for tax credits or advise them of a change of circumstances.

This is important because HB would be affected by tax credits.

No one can do the calculations for you because we do not know what your local authority's local housing allowance rates are.

Are you currently receiving tax credits?
