Can anyone advise on my problem with Match.com . I paid for a six month subscription and cancelled on 15th May and received an email from Match confirming this. Yesterday 9/7/16, I noticed that they had taken another 6 month subscription from me totalling £59.94. I immediately emailed match to tell them of their mistake, and today received an email telling me I would not be getting a refund as I had re activated my account. I most certainly did not re activate it, and they can't tell me how I did. They also say in the email that I also wont get the refund because I had signed into my account after the date it was supposed to be cancelled. This I admit to, because I went into the website to get information on how to contact them regarding taking money from my account. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Having had a quick search around the internet, this seems to be standard practice by these rogues.

How did they take this disputed subscription - from a debit card, paypal, credit card, direct debit or something else?

Hi it was paid via paypal which is linked only to my debit card I didnt have any joy getting the refund tweeted them and was asked to call the customer service no which is a dead line it was cancelled within the initial 14 day cooling off period as well, As paypal stated it was a live subscription there was nothing that they could do Match refused to refund regardless of the fact that I was inactive had I paid via debit card I could have done an indemnity claim nite to self never again!
  • They took my money from the debit card I first paid with 6 months ago... Sorry, it looks like I hijacked another post. Didn't know how to start a new thread.

Then speak to you card issuer about a chargeback. Point out to them that you have the email confirming the cancellation yet match.com still took a subsequent payment.
Also make sure that your bank doesn't allow any more subscription amounts to be taken.
  • Thanks. I'm getting on to bank tomorrow. I spoke to them tonight on webchat, and they will try to help when phone lines open tomorrow. I will keep posted on the outcome.

I only chose to pay via paypal as I thought I had more protection with them rather than my debit card - don't worry about hijacking the post Match.com are very naughty at taking payments when they've cancelled the subscription my experience was awful don't bother with their customer services no...its a dead line.

Good luck with getting your money back
