Hi - I wonder could anyone help.
I have a tv in my bedroom - a few weeks ago, when I woke in the middle of the night and turned on the tv, no channels were working and the screen said 'no digital signal'.
Thinking it needed re-installed, I did that but no change.
Tv has built in freeview - no box.
Similar type of tv in the kitchen didn't work either.
Tv in living room did work however - it is connected to BT Tv box.
Since then this has happened many times (when I do wake during the night and try it!) Seems to be between the hours of approx midnight and 5.30am.
Any ideas how to sort it out please?
Thanks

I did check on some site the first time it happened some weeks ago and there was no known issues as that's what I thought perhaps was the problem.
Thanks for the suggestion though0 -
Possibly on a communal aerial and it is being turned off ?0
-
Thanks - if by communal you mean the aerial is shared with another house - no, that's not the case.
Very strange whatever is happening!!! Shall keep on trying to get to the bottom of it.0 -
Are the three tvs on the same aerial?.0
-
Thanks, yes Norman Castle - all tvs are from one aerial.
The main tv in the living room is connected to a BT TV box - it works ok at night.
Last night it went off at 1.10am as I was watching it and didn't come back on until 6am (other nights has been different but similar periods of no service).0 -
I had a Hitachi TV in the bedroom, on standby a red led was visible , when switched on, a blue led was lit, on a few occasions , when unable to sleep and awake in the middle of the night, I noticed, the red led would flash away for a few minutes , then go steady again the TV stayed off, I assumed that it ran a programme that did an auto 'rescan' so it was always up to date, programmed to do it in the wee small hours, when the chances are the TV would be off anyway, and it would be easy enough for it to abort it if the TV happened to be on at that designated time0

Is it possible that there is an amplifier on the aerial that has a timer on the socket powering it ?0

Thanks for the replies.
The thing is, that it is only in the last number of weeks that this has started - no changes have been made to the aerial.
All tvs are on standby during the night yes however this has also happened when NOT on standby ie actually watching tv and it goes off.
All very weird!0
