Extension and Home Renovation Checklist

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a property that needs a bit of work. I've applied and received planning permission for a small extension and, after a fair bit of trouble, I've finally appointed a builder.

I'd like to get a head start on making decisions but I'm struggling to find a list anywhere of all of the things that I need to consider and in what order.

I know that my builder will let me know when things are required, but working full time (and long hours) means that my opportunity to investigate is limited. I don't want to be rushed into making last minute decisions that I might regret.

What I'm looking for, is something that lists all of the things that require a decision and in the right order. I.e.
Type of skirting board
Finish of skirting board
Window type
Internal doors (colour, type, etc)
External doors
Flooring type/finish
Paint colour
Door fittings
Bathroom tiles
etc.

Has anyone come across something like this on the web?
