Have I made the correct decision

I have planned to purchase my first house within the next 6 months and I have put most of my funds (around £11,000) into an IceSave account. I wanted to place them somewhere where they would not be tied up and where they would be safe and make as much interest as possible.

Was this a good short term move of have I missed a trick?

If you are a taxpayer and haven't funded an ISA yet then you should pay £3K into one immediately and leave £8K in Icesave.

Just as exel says, as long as you've used your ISA allowance, I think you've done the right thing!

Thanks to both of you, I have exhausted my ISA allowance, it a relief to know that IceSave was the correct option in these circumstances.
