help with google wallet

Hello!

Can anyone offer me some advise?

I paid for some concert tickets using my visa debit card, via google wallet. The concert was for 6 months time when I made the purchase.

I expected to get the tickets in due course, but they never arrived- the vendor is not responding to my emails. I tried to get a chargeback via my HSBC account and via google wallet, but both outfits are saying that I would have had to inform them within 120 days of the purchase.

When I informed them that this would have been impossible given that the tickets were not expected until after the 120 days, they said there was nothing they could do, as it was there policy.

Does anyone here have any ideas on how I could go about this differently to get my money back????

    advice, their

There is some uncertainty with these 120 days. See this recent thread: nationwide visa chargeback dispute

MSE article: Visa, Mastercard & Amex Chargeback

Section 75 claim against the CC provider doesn't have this limitation, but most likely is out of question because of Google Wallet in the middle:

Definitely out of the question in this case as the OP paid by debit card (yes, I know it's been posted on the credit card board, not for the first time and certainly not for the last!).

Well, not definitely out of the question if the OP is running an overdraft.

And even in this case it's very questionable.

    How about this?

If I reported the matter to the police, got a crime reference number, are the banks under obligation to refund my money if I have been a victim of fraud?

No - you voluntarily gave your card details to a third party - the dispute is between you and them.

Banks have legal obligations to refund unauthorised transactions only - and you don't need police for this (that can't care less about such fraud).

In your case it's the internal Visa procedure with some rules, not a law. Why do you think banks have to be legally responsible for all errors their customers make and all fraud they get victims of?

That said, IMHO it makes no sense to count 120 days from the date of transaction, not the date of delivery, but I can't find any reliable confirmation for this. Try asking Visa directly if you find a way of doing this.

OP you can sue in small claims court - you may find them not wanting the publicity of losing in court.
Have you also tried Facebook and Twitter?

Finally try trading standards - yours might be the tip of the iceberg and they may ask the government on clarity on issues such as yours which is hardly unique.
