Contract Query

I am moving in to new student accomodation come July this year.
I am just curious as to who would be liable for white goods breaking during my tenancy in the hosue.
the contract states: "Have the use of all appliances provided in the Property, as listed in the inventory save those which are noted as not
working. However, should any items require repair, or be beyond repair, the Landlord does not undertake to pay for
any costs of repair or to replace the appliance, except those which the Landlord is required by law to maintain.
Does this mean the landlord is not liable for things like the oven, fridge, washing machine if they break? Just worried about the potential costs that could incur over the year.

Correct. You aren't moving into student accommodation presumably (ie owned and run by a university) rather you are moving into a private house/flat - which means you are a tenant like any other0
