It should stop whinging about how every other bank should have to charge for its services and focus on launching a decent full current account.
Virgin Money’s chief, said: “The CMA should make banks pay the going rate of interest on current account balances which would make more banks think about starting to charge for current accounts.”

Virgin money has squandered its opportunity to become a really good challenger bank. So far its wasted the opportunity of a huge brand name, getting infrastructure (some would say at a very good deal), customers and a licence before newer competitors and it has sat bone idle moaning about how we should all pay for an account with anyone so we might choose to use them.
If it managed to innovate a little more then it might do a little better.
Currently it should stick to other financial products cause after years and years of promising a full current account and never delivering it doesn't really deserve anyone's custom.0 -
A bit harsh. Its fixed rate ISA's are very competitive. Account opening easy. Good website.0

Not really - I would love it to do well but its not doing anything majorly different from when it was offering credit cards, savings & insurance way back when.
It should have been THE challenger bank but i doubt it will be now, it currently doesn't deserve to be.
Who knows it might try for W&G and then step up its game.0
