    Something like Vanguard LS100 or L&G World index maybe? Really depends what you are looking at for a general fund. I certainly wouldn't be looking at a single bank share.

    If I was saving for a house I wouldn't invest in stocks and shares at all, I'd be using high interest current accounts and a HTB ISA. edit .. and a LISA from next year

    Yes, i have taken your advise and gone and opened a Help To Buy ISA with Santander; the interest rate is 4% but can only pay in a maximum of £200 monthly. Thanks again
