Clearing chattels / contents left in a repossession house

They bought with whatever the contract said (and "vacant possession" generally refers to whether somebody is actually occupying the property, not whether they've left some junk lying around).

The norm for repossessions is that the lender will clear or tidy it to the extent they think desirable, and the purchaser takes it as it is.
