Iva completion certificate

Options
Can anyone offer me some advice? We finished paying our 6 year iva in November 2015 and were told by our Iva company that we would receive our completion certificate in January this year. After what seems like ages chasing it up we have now been told that the iva company has been put into administration. We are extremely frustrated with all of this and don't know which is the best way to go forward.

  • Is your IVA with Varden Nuttall?

If so, they still look to be trading, by their website at least, so give your supervisor a call as you normally would, they are certainly still answering the phone. Alternatively, you could e mail vardennuttall@harrisons.uk.com who are the administrators.

If not with VN, then you should be able to follow a similar procedure for your own firm.

Yes it is Varden Nuttall, been told yesterday that they can't issue the competition certificate due to them going into administration. I find this unbelievable as they seem to be taking on new clients. Other than that they said that they couldn't do anything nor talk to me about how to move forward from this.
  • Looks like an e mail to the administrators then, you could also query with them why they are taking on new clients, although I am sure it is perfectly legitimate of them to do so.
  • This is us also !

Last payment nov 2014 - still no completion certficate even though we have been repaid for overpayments!!! I have emailed my contact and the administrators but I have just been fobbed off..... im desperate to get my credit file clean, this seems absurd and completely unacceptable!! HELP!

I would always call first with anything and follow up with emails to confirm. Emails get left for days.

A point but I'm sure you know is don't expect a certificate 'per se' ...it is a few papers confirming you have met your commitment that the IP sends to the insolvency register/court. They vary in format but i thought it worth mentioning in case you had these and were waiting for something entitled certificate. I was so unsure with my own final papers when they arrived that i called up and asked for confirmation....Best wishes
