Santander account still open after switching to FD

Hi folks
I have switched from Santander to First Direct on the 1st of April but my Santander account is still open in my online banking.
Anyone know why this is?

Did you use the Current Account Switching Service, or did you do the switch yourself?

Did you actually fill in a switch form? The link is for the application form.

Yeah filled in the account form and switch form. Got all letters and confirmation of switch from both banks.

Do you have any outstanding charges on your Santander acct?

Was your switch date 1st april or thats when you opened your account?

1st April was switch date. No outstanding balance.

Any charges 'pending' on the Santander account?...debit card pre-auth, £5 fee (if 123)?

Did you somehow inadvertently opt for FD's 'partial switch', as opposed to a full switch using the CASS, which doesn't close the old account?
