Unauthorised transactions RBS account

Options
Ok, I just noticed £200 of transactions of £40 a go debiting my RBS account, have had the card blocked and it will be refunded by tonight but my main concern is that this account I do not use, the card has never been used outside in any terminals and I've only used online to pay for a airport car park NCP and the Vue cinema again online booking. How can anyone have got my card details including my CVV number that they have used for these transactions.

At a complete loss.

John

But why this card and not any of the others I use on the computer, it has antivirus and a paid malware software protection, I ran a key logger finder but I did not have one so still at a loss, checking everything now.

Have RBS absolutely confirmed that your CVV was used? There are plenty of transactions that can be done without it.

Not sure now, he did say CVV in the conversation, apparently some broker for bit coins he mentioned as well, but I've tried doing a search and can't find anything about them, on the transaction description there is an email address, so have also sent an email to that but no reply as yet.

Well that was a bad move, all you've done is given the fraudsters more of your personal information so they can try again. If you do get a reply I'd recommend deleting it without opening, but if you do open it please, please, please don't touch any attachment.

Why do you think that the broker is in cahoots with the fraudster(s)?

If he was unable to find anything about them then I doubt if they are a legitimate broker, so my thought is that it's the fraudsters' email address. What's your explanation?

Well Ive had a full refund from the bank. Im more confused by how they got the card details as I can understand if this was my main card but this card has not left a side draw and only used 3 times online to RBS,NCP and Vue.

Didn't think about the email, just thought as the description had contact details it was a way of finding out. I won't open anything, I also have duel authentication on this email account so should be better protected.

    Thanks again for input.
