I've recently used the government site for a pension forecasts for my wife who hasn't paid NI contributions for 7 years. It simply goes on contributions to date.
Interesting to note that she has 29 yrs contributions against my current 39 yrs and will get more than me because 30 of mine were slightly reduced because of COPE.0 -
Exactly. The verification bit "can" use P60 information, I recall being asked by one of the online verification systems (either for pension forecast or self assessment) where you put in total gross pay from a P60 (any P60 if you have more than one source of income) as "proof" of who you are.
The pension system doesnt use any earnings data that you put in for the forecast - this is all done using data held by the HMRC NPS system.0
