Pension Forecast

My wife - has not had paid employment for the last 12 months - being on Carers Allowance - which is supposed to pay her NI ..
I have been trying to obtain a state pension forecast for her and discovered that - she needs a P60 in order to obtain this - but CA recipients are not given P60's
What can she do ?

Can you not use a different verification provider who may ask for different evidence.

The other alternative is to use the old system by post or phone.

I don't think that it is for proof of ID rather - proof of income ....??

I signed my wife up for a Personal Tax Account yesterday, used her passport details without problems. Once logged on you can see the NI history (although 15/16 isn't available yet).

    use Government Gateway?

Or your wife can telephone or submit the BR19 form.

It is NOT the ID bit that is an issue - she passes that bit !!
It is the next step - the actual inputting of the data - the fact that she has ZERO income - hence (as far as HMRC are concerned) - ZERO recent NI payments made.
When, anyone claiming CA have their NI contributions made up for them.

An NI statement might be more informative:

Credits for being on benefits are not the same as paid contributions even though they of equal value for the pension.

I still don't understand what the P60 would be needed for. If filling a BR19 you can leave most of it blank if you can't supply the data.

I agree - my OH is 'economically inactive' (effectively retired following redundancy but not yet at State Pension Age) so has no income and hence no P60 but has successfully got himself Pension forecasts sent to him in the recent past.

(I don't think hes used the online service with Verify though).

    Same problem here
I work part time in my mid 50s
I have about 30 years contributions from the past
pay income tax ( combined income from part time job and ill heath pension(s)!!)
Pay no NI due to low pay - from job alone
Try to get a state pension estimate on that. ...
