  • :o Thanks GTD, I didn't think of that!:o

RAS - he will definately NOT be paying only the minimum payment each month! Not if he ever wants a peaceful life anyway!. Once I can do the calcs, I hope to have a plan for him to pay it at a rate of at least £100pcm.

I have the card now anyway, so definately no more spends on it.... and I think he has seen the error of his way

    Cheers

I hope it does... he's getting there I think - after the last 6 months or so of me nagging!:D
My favourite phrases to wind him up are 'we can't afford it' or 'we've got NO money' :p
I think he also began to realise things could be different when I told him I had cleared a £3.5k cc bill by selling/savings/tarting in less than a year. We even had a brief chat yesterday about what his username would be if he were to sign up here - 6 months ago he would have thrown the pc out the window at the suggestion!
I guess some people just take longer than others.

Was this before or after Casualty managed to extract the card from where you'd "placed" it?

Im in the same position as you, only my OH has not had any kind of lightbulb moment. His mantra is "its only debt if you cant afford to pay it" , by this he means minimum payments.Iv taken his cards off him too.I hope you get this sorted I wont give up on my spendthrift OH yet.I am a very determined woman. He likes "toys" so ive given him my budget plan until christmas which if he follows will clear our 3 cc, and allow him to have a nintendo wii bought with cash.I know its like bribing a child but if it gets the cc paid I dont care.
