Smart Meters for gas and electric

Ours are planned for installation on Friday 8th April with Scottish Power.

1.Anyone already on one?
2.What are your findings?
3.Bills up or down because you look at what your using?

    We had an electric one fitted in the old house; no real difference other than I didn't have to take meter readings. Slight shame, as the solar panels occasionally made the disc spin backwards.

    There was an item on smart meters on radio 4 recently.
    The main problem seemed to be that if you change suppliers the automatic reporting may be disabled (due to lack of agreement/compatibility between suppliers) so it becomes a regular meter again.

    No difference. They came with a display that was in the kitchen, moved to the spare bedroom then stopped working. It's nice not to have to worry about meter readings at all.
    Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
