Smart Meters for gas and electric

Ours are planned for installation on Friday 8th April with Scottish Power.

We had an electric one fitted in the old house; no real difference other than I didn't have to take meter readings. Slight shame, as the solar panels occasionally made the disc spin backwards.0

There was an item on smart meters on radio 4 recently.
The main problem seemed to be that if you change suppliers the automatic reporting may be disabled (due to lack of agreement/compatibility between suppliers) so it becomes a regular meter again.0 -

No difference. They came with a display that was in the kitchen, moved to the spare bedroom then stopped working. It's nice not to have to worry about meter readings at all.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
