Here I am back from my weekly babysitting duties in London. Dh came with me :) On the way down an accident on the junction of A12 and A13 just happened before we got to the junction, fortunately it looked to be a minor accident but involved a lorry and 2 or 3 cars but several people standing around nobody hurt and cars only had little dents from what I could see, so I hope I was right and everyone was ok.
Went to Canary Wharf to The Hilton for afternoon tea which was a present from our son for our wedding anniversary last month. When we arrived my husband was all smiles and went round the revolving doors twice:o- in the foyer was the Norwich football team, although he doesn't support Norwich they are our local team, so he was chatting away to them before they got on the coach to play their game.
Afternoon tea was good and the staff were very accommodating as little grandson came as well, :T
Although son and daughter-in-law live 1 stop on the tube away from Canary Wharf they had never been and were amazed at the shopping centers,:j wandered into l'occitane for our free gifts,:) bottled water from boots courtesy of O2 :)and coffee at waitrose.:)
DH and I stayed at Docklands Hilton and on Sunday after having a very pleasant drive around popping into various coops along the way managed the rapid rashers but no bacon:(, had a little womble at the usual A that I go to when in London :)
Had a drive and sat out at varying quays watching the world go by saw:) some lovely house boats - and one for sale, but I don't fancy living on water:eek:- then back to the Hilton- got a little lost saw a sign to Greenwich and thought I might pop in for a pot of tea with the elite who were that way,:rotfl: but found our way back to the hotel.
In the evening caught the free ferry across to canary wharf to Nandos where we used our gift card - so cheap evening:) back to the hotel where we had left our bottle of wine on ice.
Up at the crack of dawn and short journey for my babysitting duties, only needed for 1 day this week so now back home.
Receipts to upload, wombles to check and car to be serviced tomorrow.

Hope everyone ok, I do try and read all the posts.:)

The china/wedding run I think is amazing, do you know I don't think in my RL, friends / acquaintances would have pulled together and come up with such a heart warming gesture as the elite have done, I would have loved to have contributed with something but have no idea what!!!

Hello hillbilly:) it sounds like a busy but lovely time you've had.
I opened a pack of Danepak tonight and it was really fatty. I would say a third of it was fat. Can't believe I picked up such a terrible pack:o
