I think "Reduced to clear" is sometimes largely just a promotional tool. Things go onto £1 half price offers months before. Then they go to full price for a few months. And then onto £1.50 "reduced to clear" - as if they are reduced at all as good as the previous £1 offer. And people then buy them:huh: because they see the big "Reduced to clear" and think that the price is the best or a good one. I see items at £1.33 or similar in store and "Reduced to clear" which I keep ignoring - rightly in my view - as they have been £1 offers before and therefore on my guide prices now represent poor value for money.
The other RTC items though - like 10p biscuits, 25p hot dogs and 40p salmon, they are good:D. Again, we need to separate the poor value offers from the good ones!;)
Mhoc's "superficially good" I think!
(Of course, things where the RTC is good soon become unavailable in many stores - but they then tend to linger on in stores with incorrect high SELs or in those where the RTC price is on the shelf but the fact it is/was RTC is unmarked - probably explains why the item is still in that store, different long-ago RTC items in different stores, although seemingly available almost nowhere else.
The Uppercrust 4 pack pies that eventually turned up, unexpectedly for me* and months after I deleted them off, in one store - price on the shelf but no indication of RTC. There was a clearly visible, large enough RTC label previously in my stores from which they had vanished. The AB Roast Potatoes - I saw £1.50 RTC in some other places. Needless to say, they vanished. Only store I have now found them in, months later, they are on the bottom shelf and have £1.50 price ticket on but nothing like any offer label or any attention otherwise being drawn to point them out. I suspect people generally don't look down to that level and don't notice them as much - hence why they are still there and seemingly just in that store - though I am sure they will be in some other store even if it's taken me several months to find them again and it is now the only store of numerous ones in which I've now not seen them anywhere else I've been to.
Maybe they are there, elsewhere, but just on days before or after I've visited. Perhaps they do, or will, come back elsewhere as they restock or bring in more stock even though they are supposedly "clearing" them. One would have thought, as soon as something was "cleared", from a store, it was then gone. However, "reduced to clear" is merely a promotional tool so it isn't meant to communicate anything like that. It's merely in existence to sell the product and no other reason and therefore should not be read literally. A bit like the "when it's gone, it's gone" promotions of some time ago - which seems sometimes means "when it's gone, it's gone (...and then it'll come back again two weeks later)". In other words, not meant to communicate anything and, in truth, meaningless. It's meant to make you think that something is of limited stock and therefore that you need to buy it urgently. When in fact the product and the price on it (or maybe even a better one) will soon come back around later on. I think we have learned the tricks of this game and therefore how to beat it. It's us, the minority of the population that uses this thread:money: whilst others, the public generally, continue to fall for the marketing and promotion.)
*Totally expected by the people that used that store and had them available constantly - and were sniggering for months whilst they were absent from my list:rotfl:.0 -

Are you popping into Morrisons to see if I've missed anything off my list?:rotfl:0 -
 We need a few of the stock of the Princes Salmon (some of each version) hiding in a random place in the Wrexham store and then putting back again, with SELs hopefully still present and intact, immediately before closing time on Sunday. (We also don't want any staff to think they have gone completely OOS at any time and to take the SELs away - or for any other customers in store to discover our hiding place in the time between now and 3.58pm on Sunday.)0

my store only has a very limited range of mullers, but perhaps if I remember when going to another store ill give it a try.:T
On this one, it isn't necessarily range that you need though, just lots of one type plus one of another. (And obviously check who you are comparing against to make sure they have those versions or, in particular, the one you bought 11 of.) Bit of a shame for me as it means I'd have to do eight or more separate shops in order to get a range of different Mullers that I would like more to have (and then end up with about 4 times as many as I would ever use). Also having to fill the shop with fillers as it only counts as two different items:(. I might do a 'couple' of shops though, fill one with lots (in other words 11:D) Muller Rice Strawberries that are my favourite and the other with 11 Vanilla Yogurts that I know they like the most. Would have liked to have a variety, but, never mind, this will do:).0 -
I think I'll do my M list updating later - and see you for now.:wave:0

I've just added some items to my M list. I am not finished yet by any means.

Sal, can you get your wombles to buy all of the items that I add in bold to the list every week? Many thanks.
It seems like I am in a different world - I have added 11 items, none of them at all on msm for M. I've added another item that is showing £1 OOS for M that is 70p in M and one that shows £1.02 OOS which of course means 36p in stock:rotfl:.
I'll come back to keep going, with a lot more yet to add, later! Bye for now - see you:wave0 -
And of course we know this to be true don't we?:rotfl:
Princes Wild Pacific Red Salmon (213g)
£3.50 £1.64 / 100g
