Not happy with Wrexham not changing the SEL on the Beach Blonde Conditioner that's £1.47. They have it, I believe, at £3.72. There are just about enough other stores for me to pick up £1.47. Let's hope the APG either has it at that price elsewhere or that it doesn't use Wrexham:rotfl:!
It's possibly them though that's helped cost us the salmon:mad:. I just think. Otherwise, clearly some other Ms, at some other points, mess up our APG whenever it gets an incorrect full price from a SEL showing that when M is, on collection day, really on offer.
I have my next note to mention the Mild and Hot Salsa Dips (300g) in A, one of which at least either didn't pick up an M price or else it didn't get the M mbuy. They are on 88p and 2 for £1.50 in M. In Wrexham however there was no mbuy showing in front of these products on the shelf. It's mix and match with some own brand Savoury Snacks, Potato Sticks, Onion Rings and other items. The mbuy labels were showing all down the shelf in front of those items but not by the Salsa Dips. Therefore it would not be obvious that they are on the mbuy and it could be missed. They clearly are on the mbuy though as they are all individual price 88p, which the mbuy offer label shows, and indeed other Ms (and m.com) shows 2 for £1.50. I put one of the offer labels in front of the Salsa Dips (sigh - doing the job of the staff again:(). Maybe that was a little naughty, but anyway, it has attempted to make it more correct. Unfortunately, at Wrexham, the offer labels have the wrong weight range on them - they say 88g-200g (other stores' labels have them going up to 300g), so some price collector might think they are the wrong product. Sadly I can't force stores to write correct offer labels or to put them up. We can but hope that any price collector does not think that the 88-200g label relates to something else (and it clearly does have the same individual price on it). Hopefully, if they are there, they will now make the 'mistake' which isn't of picking up the products and putting them into the correct mbuy that they are actually on.
Perhaps they 'missed' the Mild Salsa Dip because they didn't see it as comparable to M's Cool Salsa Dip:think:. Even though under msm standards it is showing as equivalent on there. So that is another possibility. The Hot Salsa Dips however, at least, ought to compare and I can buy hope by now that they will eventually pick them up and at the correct M pricing.
It's just... again, some of the APG failures sometimes do seem to tie in.0 -

I was told that Wrexham had a SEL of a wrong high price on the Princes Red Salmon before, yet even that price wasn't picked up on the APG last time but the product returned N/A. It's possible that that high SEL went on the shelf after Wednesday. I don't know why, but sometimes stores put up, or change, SELs to full prices even when the products remain on offer and sometimes when offers have still some time to run. Maybe it's just an error or mistake by an M staff member, thinking it was some other product, or printing off the SEL from an old file on the computer system. Whatever the case, when I visited on Monday there was no SEL at all. It seems to me that the SEL is absent, and that would tie in with an N/A return even if the APG used Wrexham as one of its stores. If there was another SEL for £1.50 for the Pink Salmon, which matches the result the APG got, then that SEL was not there when I viewed the shelf on at least two separate occasions on Monday. I looked at the outset as part of my check for these specific items. Quite some time later, I passed the shelf again when I reached the canned fish aisle as part of my 'full store' check. The aisle is at the other end of the store from where I start off.
You can rest assured I've done what I was doing thoroughly and properly.
On my pretend 'canned fish' six-stores collection, I've gone N/A on the Red Salmon because Wrexham was only one of two stores that had that product for me but both of them did not have any SEL for it.
However, the lack of a £1.50 SEL for the Pink Salmon in Wrexham has now stopped me from getting £1.50 on the Pink - I had another store at £1.50 but I also had another store at 40p (even if now OOS) and I went with that lowest price. I can see myself going to £1.50 from Wednesday's collection as the store that was OOS will have removed its SEL and, unless I now find another 40p from somewhere else, I'll be left with the £1.50 I got in the store that had that last time. I compared - pretend - against 40p and still, just about, do - however the APG has already failed to pick up 40p and I don't think the chances look any good from here onwards.0 -
Even the frozen Savers Peas on Monday had what appears() to be an incorrect slightly higher old price SEL. They said 71p but M has gone slightly cheaper than that. :rotfl:I was just trying to rely on msm but I see the product is no longer on there. However, they have not compared on the APG probably because of another mistake, this time probably by the APG collectors who do not appear to have noticed that M's product is at the 10% weight limit from A's. They used to compare when they were same pack size years ago. As far as I can see there's been no change in M's formulation and the APG, via scan of a.com, does compare its 1Kg peas against T's 900g (M's weight is the same as T's). However, this is another one where I've stopped taking a price in M because this product "never" compares. As a result, I'm a little fuzzy on the price of the M item. I think it's 68p, from memory. I think there's been at least two price changes to get from 71p to 68p (if it is now that). I could be wrong on that nonetheless. Anyway, I'm not too bothered by this item as I managed to get an extremely good comparison, albeit temporarily, on some CBY peas against S now a while back that worked out even better.
It's probably the case that the staff are doing their best, but there's a lot of work for them or they just prioritise other things. I make no criticism of individuals on here just doing their job (even if most people, in general, away from M, don't seem to do it very properly sometimes:rotfl:). And, although this seems to single out M, I suspect a similar situation exists in every major supermarket (and a few minor ones). Also it is to be borne in mind that I'm highlighting the (few?) occasions on which there are conflicts in, or incorrect, prices showing - many prices, to be fair, are consistent between different stores. But by highlighting the occasions of incorrectness or 'difference' (even when the actual prices are, apparently:laugh:, the same), it does make it seem to be perhaps much worse than it in fact is.
We may be closer, at last, to understanding the seeming randomness sometimes of instore collection information even though I still think the vast majority of things compare correctly (I'm not talking about glitches on the A side). Even if, by its nature, it often won't be predictable - except that, sometimes, from instore I can see issues that might arise as clearly, it sometimes turns out, I have those in at least one of my stores, and it does suggest the issue is in other Ms more widely too - and the erroneous result, which I could foresee might happen, but not necessarily predict that it would, has then been seen in the APG.
I think I'll steer clear of items if I can see full prices being put on SELs a day before the expiry of an offer. I have the Douwe Egberts 190g, which failed earlier, as being clear £3 in one store (Wrexham M) on Monday. However, the offer was to run until 19th April and I can see some stores putting full price onto the shelf at that late stage of the offer and wouldn't want to risk more stores being found with that. As the item failed last time, it might be seen as going really down in price in M on Monday and cause the collectors to delay again and check if the price really is... etc. and thus get full price until the next time when it is now... I think it's going to be full price later today. There shouldn't be a problem with something on a Monday, even if the offer was to be off before the next update (that the update from the Wednesday information), comparing against the collected Monday price, once the system is on Monday* and doing so until the system is next updated (after the offer has already expired a number of days before in M). Even if an offer expires on Tuesday in M, the Monday collections will still pick up what was instore on Monday and will still pick up the offer if they get enough returns from stores picking that up and then it will last into at least part of the following Thursday.
*as indeed it is right now at the time of posting, at least in places where the Caffeine Free cola glitch which was on the previous collection is now not happening.0
